Men’s Golf in Eighth After Opening Round of MIAA Championship

RSU shot 309 (+21) on Monday morning

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Rogers State men's golf team resides in eighth after the opening round of the MIAA Championships, held at the par-72 Jefferson City Country Club.
 
As a team, the Hillcats shot 309 (+21) on Monday morning. Central Oklahoma and Washburn are tied for the lead in the team race after carding 293 (+5) after 18 holes. Missouri Western (+6), Central Missouri (+8) and Fort Hays State (+10) round out the top five.
 
Dylan Ros leads the way for the Hillcats in a tie for 25th in the individual standings. The junior shot 76 (+4), with birdies on holes seven and 12. After a bumpy start on the front nine, Ros finished strong on the back nine with all but one hole even or better than par.
 
Sophomore Callum Brown is tied for 30th after shooting a 77 (+5) in the first round. Just one stroke behind him are seniors Aiden Deng (+6) and Tyler Collier (+6) in a tie for 40th, and rounding out the scorers is freshman Kobsak Phisitbuntoon (+7) in a tie for 42nd.
 
The Hillcats will resume play in Jefferson City tomorrow morning at 8:40 a.m.
