CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State softball head coach
Andrea Vaughan has announced the addition of
Paige Knight to the coaching staff ahead of the 2027 campaign.
"I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for everything that this next chapter has in store," Knight remarked. "Getting to give back to the game that has given me so much, while helping young athletes grow both on and off the field, is something I'm truly looking forward to. We have a great group of young, talented athletes, and I truly believe this team has something special. I can't wait for you guys to see what these girls can do this spring!"
Knight comes to the Hill from the University of Tulsa, where she served as a graduate assistant in 2026 under head coach Crissy Strimple. In 2025, she played in the infield for the Golden Hurricane, collecting 21 hits, including five doubles, along with 11 RBIs, 13 walks and three runs scored in 43 starts. She also earned a spot on the CUSA All-Academic Team.

"Paige brings an outstanding combination of high-level Division I playing experience, coaching experience as a graduate assistant at the University of Tulsa, and a tremendous knowledge of the game that will immediately strengthen our program. Paige understands firsthand the preparation, discipline, competitiveness and attention to detail required to perform at an elite level. Her experience competing against some of the best players and programs in Division I softball will be invaluable as we continue developing our student-athletes and preparing them to compete for championships."
Before her time at Tulsa, Knight excelled at New Mexico State University, appearing in 93 games with 90 starts over two seasons for head coach Kathy Rodolph. She posted a .289 batting average with a .340 on-base percentage and a .491 slugging percentage, totaling 79 hits, 55 RBIs, 30 runs and 20 walks in 273 plate appearances. Of her hits, 23 were for extra bases, including 16 home runs and seven doubles. She also excelled academically, as she was named to the All-WAC Academic Team in 2023.
Knight began her playing career at the University of Oklahoma under head coach Patty Gasso, contributing to the 2021 NCAA Division I National Championship team. As a true freshman, she served as a pinch hitter, pinch runner and outfielder, batting .600 in five plate appearances (3-for-5) with one home run, four RBIs, five runs scored and one walk.
A native and current resident of Owasso, Knight helped lead the Rams to a 2019 Class 6A state runner-up finish, earned a spot on the 2019 Oklahoma All-State team and was named the district's co-offensive player of the year. She finished her high school career with a .427 batting average, 183 hits, 145 RBIs and 119 runs scored. Knight was ranked No. 51 in FloSoftball's Hot 100 and No. 104 in Extra Innings' final rankings for 2020. She also earned the 2019 Michelle Smith Outstanding Student-Athlete Award.
Knight earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies from NMSU and a master's degree in sports leadership at TU.
