About: Taylor returns to RSU for her senior campaign in 2016 after a junior season that saw her as one of the top runners for the Hillcats. The Chestertown, Maryland native turned in her top performance in the 1,500 meters at the Tulsa Duels with a personal-best time of 5:13. In the 5,000 meters, she ran a season-best 20:07 at the Southwestern College Invitational. Taylor has run in every cross country race since coming to the Hill and earned a spot on the 2014 All-Heartland Conference Honorable Mention team by placing 16th. She also was named to the 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Team and inducted into the Psi Chi and Alpha Chi Honors Societies. Taylor was selected as RSU Runner of the Year as a sophomore in 2013 after earning Freshman of the Year honors in her first season with the Hillcats. She also has been on the Heartland Conference Academic All-Conference President's Honor Roll and the RSU President's Honor Roll the last three years. She was named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference team after recording a time of 19:16 placing 14th at the SAC Championship. Taylor came to the Hill from Collinsville High School after finishing sixth at the Oklahoma Class 5A State Cross Country Championships earning all-state honors as a senior. Salutatorian of her high school graduating class, she was accepted into the honors program at RSU. As a member of the Lady Cardinals track and field team, Taylor finished second in the two mile and fourth in the mile at the state championship meet. The daughter of Jarrett and Patti Taylor, she said she chose RSU because "it is a growing team and a school that was close to home."
