About: Hooks joins the Hillcats from Southwest Baptist Universty where he played one season under Head Coach Jeff Guiot. During his junior campaign, Hooks led the team with 15.2 points per game and hauled in 5.1 rebounds while earning All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors. Hooks spent His freshman and sophomore season at Northern Oklahoma Junior College-Tonkawa where he played for Head Coach Brett Weiberg. As a sophomore he averaged 12.1 points per game and six rebounds, being named second team all-conference. Hooks enjoyed a standout prep career at East Central High School in Tulsa, Okla. where he averaged 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a senior playing for Head Coach Beau Wallace. He was named MVP of the Jim Thorpe All-Star Game and named first team all-conference as a senior. The son of Jasper and Hope Hooks, Damion said he chose RSU because he “ felt like very comfortable with the school and coaching staff.”
