About: Opong joined the Hillcats in the spring of 2013 and made immediate contributions to the program. He averaged 9.9 points and 18.8 minutes per game in the 10 games he played in during the spring semester. Opong joined RSU after spending two years at Long Island University-Brooklyn. Last season Opong played in 17 games for the Blackbirds averaging 1.2 points per game averaging nearly four minutes of play as a sophomore. In 2011-12 he shot 33 percent from three-point range and hit 61.1 percent at the charity stripe. As a freshman he appeared in 11 games in 2010-11 averaging 1.4 points and 0.6 rebounds in 3.5 minutes per contest. He helped lead Cegep de Sainte-Foy to the provincial championship in 2010 and was named the finals Most Valuable Player. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya he was named a CCAA All-Canadian. The son of Max Agoma Opong and Margaret Oyella, Robinson said he chose RSU because “of the great basketball program.”
