CLAREMORE, Okla. - A solid second half effort pushed Rogers State past Texas Wesleyan for a 70-52 victory Saturday night at the Claremore Expo.

The Hillcats outpaced the Lady Rams by 15 points in the second half to remain unbeaten and complete a 2-0 weekend during Hoopin' for the Cure, presented by Claremore Regional Hospital. Jenny Hardin and Yoda Woods once again led the charge with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Woods finished with her second double-double of the week by hauling in 10 rebounds.

RSU fell behind by six points during the early part of the first half. Woods converted back-to-back buckets to give the Cats their first lead at 15-14 with 10:30 remaining in the period. The teams were knotted at 29-29 until Sophia Piggie buried a trey in the final seconds of the first half to send RSU to the locker room with a three point advantage.

Coach Amy Williams' squad opened the second half on a 14-3 run and never looked back. Junior Hunter Peterson scored all nine of her points in the second stanza. RSU shot a season-high 48 percent from the floor after the break while holding the Lady Rams to just 25 percent shooting.

Three Texas Wesleyan players reached double figures. Ashley Davis, Eliana Mijangos and Tiffany Adair each tallied 10 pionts. Freshman Logan Froese chipped in with seven points and eight boards for the Hillcats while Autumn Thompson added five points and five assists.

Rogers State (4-0) extended its best start in program history with its fourth consecutive double-digit victory. The Hillcats will closeout a three-game home stand Thursday night against Oklahoma Wesleyan. Tip-off at the Claremore Expo is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be carried live on RSU Radio 91.3 FM.
