CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State Director of Athletics
Ryan Erwin announced Tuesday that
Josh Fosdick has resigned as head men's and women's golf coach to accept the men's head coaching position at the University of Central Oklahoma.
"While we hate to lose Coach Fosdick, we are grateful for his time at Rogers State and the impact that he has made on his student-athletes and many others the past two years," Erwin said. "Coach Fosdick's commitment to excellence and hard work has built a strong foundation for RSU Golf. We will miss Josh as a part of the Hillcat Family, but we are excited for him in this new opportunity."
In two seasons leading Hillcat golf, Fosdick revitalized a program and found instant success. He was named the Heartland Conference Men's Golf Coach of the Year in just his first season at the helm in 2014-15 and the two teams combined for four team titles in his tenure.
"I can't thank Dr. Rice and
Ryan Erwin enough for the opportunity to lead the golf teams at RSU," Fosdick said. "Their support these last two years has been amazing and I know that the future of Hillcat golf is in good hands with their leadership!! I learned so much from these players and will always be proud to have coached them. Their hard work and dedication to a higher standard is what it means to be a Hillcat. I'm excited for what they'll accomplish going forward as full NCAA Division II members."
Under Fosdick's guidance, the RSU women posted 18 top-10 finishes in 20 total events and the men tallied 17 top 10's in 20 tournaments. He coached five all-conference selections, including 2014-15 freshman of the year,
Alex Marsh, as well as a pair of Heartland Conference All-Tournament Team honorees.
