TULSA, Okla. – Hillcat Women's Golf finished the opening day of the NSU Women's Classic in first place at Page Belcher GC on Monday. Action was played at the par-71 Stone Creek Course.
Rogers State recorded a round score of 297 (+13), finishing just one stroke ahead of Southeastern Oklahoma State. Oklahoma Baptist (+17), Harding (+20), and Arkansas-Monticello (+22) completed the top five. RSU aims to secure its third consecutive title at the NSU Women's Classic in the final round tomorrow.
Freshman
Renoctoviana Said, junior
Milena Andres, and sophomore
Lou Fourdan are tied for third in the individual standings after shooting a 74 (+3) in the opening round. Said excelled in her collegiate golf debut, recording a birdie on the 18th hole and 13 pars. Two-time All-MIAA honoree Andres added birdies on holes 13 and 14, while MIAA Freshman of the Year Fourdan finished with birdies on the first and eighth holes.
Senior
Lauren Anderson is tied for 10th after shooting a 75 (+4). Sophomore
Clara Ledun is tied for 21st with a score of 78 (+7).
Sophomore
Lara Foigel and junior
Elle Standlee Daniels competed as individuals. Foigel is tied for 33rd with a score of 80 (+9), while Standlee Daniels is tied for 46th after recording an 82 (+11) in the first round.
