About: Ashford returns to the Hill for his second season in the navy and red. He appeared in 34 games with 30 starts, all in right field, and finished the season with a .234 batting average. The Chino, California native totaled four doubles, one triple, two home runs and 15 RBI. He had five multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 performance against Newman with a double and home run, tallying three RBI. Ashford came to RSU after spending two seasons at East Los Angeles College playing under the direction of Head Coach James Hines. He appeared in 40 games as a sophomore leading the Huskies with 11 outfield assists. Ashford tallied a .240 batting average delivering 20 RBI, including a season-high seven in one game against Pasadena. The son of Mark and Maria Ashford, he said he chose RSU because of "baseball."
