About: Tyson is back on the Hill for his fourth season after making 15 appearances on the mound in the navy and red in 2015. The Oologah, Oklahoma native ended his junior campaign with five straight starts, getting three wins. For the year, Tyson went 3-3 with a 4.93 earned run average throwing 34.2 innings and striking out 25. In his final appearance of the season, Tyson allowed only one hit in 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts in a win at Oklahoma Panhandle State. He made 12 appearances in 2014 posting a record of 1-1 with one save, throwing two scoreless innings in the series finale against Bethany. He finished the year pitching 16.1 innings and made his lone start against Northeastern State. During his freshman season at RSU, Tyson saw the mound in eight games for the Cats. He began 2013 in the starting rotation and tallied his first-career win against Dallas Christian. Tyson stayed close to home in choosing Rogers State after a successful four-year prep career at Oologah High School. As a senior, he finished with a 13-2 record helping the Mustangs to the state semifinals. Tyson was named Tulsa 7 Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2012. The son of Don and Juanita Tyson, he said he chose RSU because "it's a good, affordable school with a good baseball program."
