Biography

About: Marquette returns to the Hillcats for his senior season following a 2014 campaign where he led the pitching staff with a 5-5 record in 81.2 innings pitched in 13 starts. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native threw five complete games, including two, complete-game shutouts at home over Baker and Oklahoma Panhandle State. Marquette was impressive out of the bullpen for the Hillcats during the 2013 season as he posted a 2.27 ERA and was tied for the team lead in saves with three, helping the Hillcats reach their second-consecutive NAIA World Series. At the World Series in 2013, Marquette closed out the final 1.2 innings and earned the save against York, where he faced the minimum throwing just 15 pitches. As a sophomore in 2012, Marquette posted one win and one save on the mound pitching 8.2 innings of relief. He joined the Hillcats in 2011 and redshirt his freshman season. Marquette signed with the Hillcats from Broken Arrow High School. As a senior with the Tigers, he was named the 2010 Most Outstanding Pitcher of the Year and selected to the 2010 all-metro team with a record of 2-0 with five saves, a 1.85 ERA, and 30 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched. The son of Kim and Kelly Marquette, he said he chose RSU because of the "excellent coaching staff and it's close to home."
