Biography

About: Culwell returns for his junior campaign following his sophomore season on the Hill in 2014 where he appeared in 25 games while starting 13 at either second base or shortstop. The Norman, Oklahoma native posted two hits in back-to-back games against Lubbock Christian and Southern Nazarene and finished the year with one double, one triple, five runs, and three RBI. During the 2013 campaign, Culwell came off the bench for the Hillcats appearing in 15 games, while scoring five runs and tallying four hits in his five plate appearances. He took a redshirt in 2012 in his first year with RSU. Culwell joined the Hillcats after playing at Community Christian High School where he missed his senior season due to a knee injury. During his junior year, Culwell recorded 31 stolen bases and hit for a .305 batting average. He was named all-state and Little All-City for his efforts. He was named to the all-state football team as a senior scoring 29 touchdowns. The son of Steve and Tracy Culwell, he said he chose RSU because of the "coaching staff and the opportunity they gave me."
