About: Bargas joins the Hillcats after spending his sophomore season at Eastern Oklahoma College. The south paw registered an 8-5 record with a 3.01 ERA. He fanned 95 hitters in 80 innings pitched and earned Region II All-Tournament Team honors. The Mountaineers won the Region II Championship in 2011. As a freshman, Bargas played at the University of Oklahoma where he tossed 11.1 innings, striking out 13 batters with a 3.97 ERA. He made a trip to the World Series with the Sooners in 2010. The Owasso High School product won three straight state championships (2007, 2008, 2009) with the Rams. As a senior in 2009, he was named to the all-state team and earned Tulsa Metro Pitcher of the Year accolades. Bargas finished his senior campaign with a 2-3 record, pitching 72 innings with 87 strikeouts and a 1.30 ERA. He said he chose RSU because “It is close to home with a great baseball program, great coaching and competitive opponents.”
