Biography

About: Poverud appeared in 46 contests and started in 29 of them as a sophomore in 2011. He drove in 22 runs, blasted three home runs and hit seven doubles with a .313 batting average. He played in 38 games during his freshman campaign in 2011. He signed with RSU after putting up big numbers during a four-year career at Coweta High School. He compiled a .418 career batting average as a four-year starter and belted seven home runs as a senior in 2009. Poverud was named an Under Armour All-American in 2008 and 2009 and said he chose RSU because “it’s close to home and because of the excellent coaches and team.”
