About: Garner started in 10 games as a junior in 2010. He finished the season with a 6-3 overall record and 3.53 ERA. He fanned 44 batters in 48.1 inning pitched. He earned player of the week honors for his road win over Lubbock Christian. Garner started in 15 games and tied the team-high with eight wins, pitching three complete games as a sophomore in 2010. He recorded 58 strikeouts with a season-high nine strikeouts against Mid-America Christian on 4/24/10. Garner was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 8-14 after tossing five shutout innings to beat Benedictine College on 2/13/10. As a freshman, the Stigler, Okla., native posted a 6-6 record for Carl Albert State College, including two-hit victories over Western Oklahoma State and Redlands State College. Garner began his collegiate athletic career as a basketball player at Eastern Oklahoma State and said he chose RSU because “they have good coaches and a chance to win a national championship.”
